Gear Additives

Experience both cost effectiveness and high performance with our wide range of driveline additives.

Our IPAC 9800L series of gear packages is designed for a wide range of industrial and automotive applications.  We use a carefully optimized blend of chemistry ideally balanced to prevent wear, pitting, spalling and scoring while protecting against oxidation, rust, copper corrosion and foaming. Even under extreme shock loads, our additives continue to protect gear teeth and insure a long tooth life as well as smoother gear changes.  As can be seen in the L-42 photographs below, the IPAC 9800L series demonstrates very low scoring on both the ring and pinion, with as much as 60% improvement over reference fluids in this test.

Our new IPAC 9800L series raises the bar in clean gear and GL-5 performance.  Don’t settle for just GL-5 performance which can leave gear surfaces loaded with sludge and varnish (as demonstrated by the L-60-1 thermal test, and the right side of the photo below). 

And if you’re looking for a limited slip top treat friction modifier, IPAC 953LS provides top of the line, proven performance in a wide range of gear fluids.  IPAC 953LS provides excellent anti-chatter performance and alleviates noise vibration and harshness (NVH) associated with some limited slip differentials.

Multipurpose

Multipurpose industrial additives are designed to be used in a wider range of industrial applications.  Some products can be used for both hydraulics, R&O and industrial gear.  When certain features such as demulsibility are enhanced, the application list can be expanded even further to various types of circulation oils, for instance.  Look for opportunities to reduce inventories and additive storage by considering one of IPAC's multipurpose industrial additives.

Tractor and Off-Road Additives

Whether you’re interested in a traditional zinc-based product like IPAC 9110 or our newer zinc-free IPAC 9130, our tractor hydraulic additives provide excellent protection against gear wear, including wet gears. Proven in field performance and ideal for all major tractor OEMs, these additives also offer excellent brake chatter performance, brake and clutch capacity and oxidative/thermal stability. In addition, we have tractor-specific friction modifiers, such as IPAC 2532.

Combined Gas and Diesel

We also offer the succinimide-based IPAC 270-70D, designed for both gas and diesel, which has additional components to aid demulsification and miscibility. As the chemistry of choice when dealing with deposit-forming substances in fuels, this package is particularly effective against combustion chamber deposits on and around constricted areas of the engine in contact with fuel.

During the course of developing our high performance additive packages, we often discover and utilize new components that deliver cutting-edge performance in both foam inhibition and demulsibility. After screening hundreds of compounds for these functions, we add the top performers to our line and make them available for your use. Friction, Anti-Wear and EP Agents

How your lubricant interacts with surfaces often dictates success or failure, and the nature of that interaction depends on what you are trying to accomplish. From protection of engine parts by ZDDP to getting the right clutch engagements in transmissions through the proper selection of friction modifiers, our ever-expanding list of components in this category will meet your latest formulation needs.

Seal Swell Agents

With the continually changing nature of base stocks, particularly the shift to more highly refined and synthetic stocks, choosing the right seal swell agent is critical At IPAC, we have a range of agents that are designed as key formulary components to ensure your fluids interact ideally with the seal and elastomer components in the system being lubricated. These components have been thoroughly tested and are used regularly in a wide range of lubricant categories to ensure proper balance and retain the proper rigidity, tensile stregth and size of these important elastomer parts. They can also provide the additional benefit of balancing the polarity of your fluid and enhancing the solubility of key additives in the system.

R&O, Turbine Oil Additives

These multifunctional hydraulic and turbine oil additive packages contain metal passivators for compound stability and longer fluid life. They provide excellent oxidative stability and outstanding rust and corrosion protection. Formulated for fluids used in wet conditions at high temperatures and pressures, they are specifically designed to resist oxidative degradation from high-temperature turbine operations.

Form Release

With our innovative additive system, a high-performance, biodegradable form release oil can be formulated easily and effectively. It creates a universal barrier release for all concrete form operations and provides optimal release characteristics for aluminum, steel, plywood (with or without oil), rubber, epoxy, urethane and coated Styrofoam forms. It can be easily sprayed, swabbed or brushed, and serves as an excellent protector for spatter and mixer applications.

Automatic Transmission Fluid (ATF) Additives

IPAC offers a range of products for automatic transmissions that provide enhanced frictional properties, long-term friction stability, oxidation, thermal, wear and corrosion protection, among other benefits.  One prime example of combining cost effectiveness with high performance is the industry leading IPAC 9344, an additive package that can be used for both high viscosity and low viscosity multivehicle transmission fluids, as well as multipurpose transmission fluids.  Talk about flexibility.  By combining IPAC 9344 with the proper VII and base oils, you can make a range of products, all with one package.  IPAC’s customer service takes center stage if you prefer any of these pre-blended, as IPAC can certainly also make an all-in-one package.

Manual Transmission Fluid Additive

IPAC 9450, a multipurpose manual transmission fluid additive package, is used to formulate heavy-duty truck synthetic fluid using either Group III or PAO base stocks. These non-EP fluids provide extended drain and severe service performance ideal for heavy-duty manual transmissions. Extensively tested, IPAC 9450 provides excellent sludge and varnish control, frictional performance and yellow metal corrosion protection.

Two Cycle

For both air- and water-cooled applications, our stroke engine oil additives deliver outstanding performance. These packages are designed with the precise ash levels for these applications, and they increase the oil's resistance to oxidation and deterioration at low, mid and high temperatures. Our two cycle products have OEM and JASO FD approvals.
